Eating your watermelon in front of white people
Sep 12th, 2008 | By admin | Category: EconomyThere are always two classes of people which we can never meet and change. Hence,it is no surprise that these two classes in our society will possibly have similar perceptions and point of views. There will always be the rich people and the other class which is beyond poverty line.
Indeed, the former class will undoubtedly find ways to spend their millions purchasing their most desired cars or most updated vehicles at the same time they care less spending much on auto accessories. The rich and powerful people likewise love spending million dollars and wastes time over casinos playing bingo and poker. The former class on one hand has a hard time scraping for their food to eat to complete a
descent meal and thinks heavily what to feed their children for the next day. It is very true that the rich people donates and supports charity works, however they sometimes do this to purposely evade paying taxes. Hence, their bank accounts are pretty much higher than what they donate. More so, they don’t bother sleeping at night because they thought they have do well without realizing there are many heads out there in the streets with empty stomachs.
Reality dictates that poverty can’t be reduced when many rich people going richer and richer, whereas the poor becomes poorer. Why not break the gap and the rich people have to come down with their golden spoon and reach out for the lower class of the society. It may be that tough for a big adjustment, yet that can be a noble and humble act they can do for the poorest of the poor.
Sharing half of their wealth is not a lost for them as they can still earn them. Charity works may be helpful, but are they effective and long term? Programs for the poor have to be something that lasts like providing them with free schooling until they can find jobs. In addition, discrimination should be avoided on work places.
Let these poorest ones eat like a cow in front of the rich ones. Let them feel how to be in the halls to find some luck. But their fate should not depend on luck because it is better to let them dream and give their chance to reach the dream.
